Last minute Halloween video rental suggestion: Anything by Hammer Films, the most prolific production company in Great Britain. They've been around since 1934. If you are a fan of Gothic horror, then you probably already know about Hammer, but in case you don't, their films are the first and last word when it comes to Gothic horror tinged with eroticism. How does the eroticism come into play, you may ask? It is the inevitable result when casting Ingrid Pitt, the star around which many a Hammer film revolves.

Thanks to the diligent efforts on the part of my good friend Cyril, I, Monochromatica, was able to interview the legendary Ms. Pitt. Please rent her films immediately. Well, finish reading my interview first. Then go rent the films. They include Countess Dracula (1970), my favorite, where she portrays Elizabeth Bathory, the countess who found the fountain of youth in the blood of young virgins. Ms. Pitt also stars in Hammer's The Vampire Lovers (1970), The House That Dripped Blood (1970), and The Wicker Man (1973.)
