c t u a l l y, my first talents were rooted in stitching. As
a young girl I spent many hours making clothes, making fashion
w i t h a needle and thread, some fabric i found. Designs for
coke bottle & paper mache' dolls. Designing in that
media came as a natural instinct to me. It was fashion and sculpture.
There is a relationship between the two media. I chose
to formally train through the vehicle of sculpture. In my studies
I accomplished many separate bodies of work in sculpture, painting,
ceramics, and glass. I had a philosophy then and i still
do today; art needs to be totally pure in it's formation. The
essence of art cannot thrive if art is made for trade. One doesn't
make art while simultaneously needing to sell it. With that at
first subconscious knowledge in my head, I trained as an artist
bent on creating. My work was mostly abstract , and sometimes
with heavy doses of nature. I was extremely productive
and engrossed in my work most of the time. I could not and did
not want to sell my art. For me, that was not a viable
option. So I pondered the query, "how am I going to
survive in this cutthroat world?" and then, the dream was
